When we’re tired we get irritable and stressed; and it’s far easier to give into temptation in a moment of weakness. Clinical research supports what logic tells us, and sleeping problems are significantly correlated with greater rate of relapse.

I know that LSD and mescaline have been proven effective in treating alcoholism(Yes its true, read the book “The use of LSD in psychotherapy and alcoholism”). But can marijuana, another psychedelic(and yes, it is a psychedelic, you can confirm it from erowid.com) be used to treat alcoholism as well?

What is Alcoholism?
Alcoholism is defined as an irresistible urge to consume alcohol. People suffering from alcoholism are very well aware of the dangerous effects alcohol could have on their bodies, but still they are unable to resist the urge to consume it. They will usually drink beyond acceptable limits and will be in an inebriated state most often, causing embarrassment and inconvenience to the people with them.

I want to get my father to go into a treatment facility. Cost is a factor. He is a three-and-a-half-year veteran in the Navy and so a Veterans Administration hospital seems to be logical.
Private inpatient programs seem to cost over $20,000 (30-day program). Does anyone know what it might cost at the VA hospital? My father is 67 and draws about $2,700 a month from Social Security and other sources.
Thank you.

A small percentage of people are able to recover from addiction on their own without the help of an alcoholism intervention. However, most addicted people need assistance.
Addiction can be defined as a compulsive need for and use of a substance that is psychologically or physically habit-forming and negatively affects the addict’s health and life. If the addicted person has become dependent on the substance, physiological symptoms will likely be experienced upon withdrawal.

Many people who find themselves in the grips of a serious dependency on alcohol or drugs enter a drug and alcohol treatment centre to be rehabilitated and treated for addiction without understanding the full measure of the delicate procedure in such a treatment centre.
When a person reaches a stage in their life when their daily responsibilities are impossible to uphold without drugs or alcohol, or they have no life left because of drugs or alcohol, this is the time to seek treatment for their substance problem. Addiction is a cunning illness which sees sufferers lose their families, careers, houses, friends and self respect and will ultimately kill them if they do not become rehabilitated, whether by jails or institutions.

Im seeing 2 psychologists, have been diagnosed with panic, anxiety, and PTSD and have been on zoloft, xanax, and the only thing that stops the panic attacks is alcohol.
I abuse it and now am an alcoholic because no med can make me calm as alcohol.
Yes I am in alcohol rehab also. I’m 100% sure I will never quit it because when I do I live in hell.
