to be skeptical of them? Is there a point where you say “looks like he did change.”
I am asking this in terms of alcoholism and mental illness that is being treated with medication. This person SEEMS to be having a positive reaction to the treatment~ but how much time should I give it before getting my heart involved?
Thanks!

My daughter is at her wits ends with her oldest daughter. There is certainly something amiss with her., Since I am bipolar, and on her fathers side, there was a suicide and alcoholism. Her husb. won’t support her in her search for help with her daughter. So she is going to have her hands full.
She is hoping the school will help her get help for her daughter. I really don’t want to go into detail, but there are many symptoms of bipolar, a lot of bizzare behavior; the extreme mood changes; inability to focus; the concrete thinking; anger problems; extremem jealousy of her little sister; (which by the way is perfectly normal). It seems like she is being defiant with her Mom, but she can’t switch from one thought into another one, thus the frustration and the response of anger with her Mom. She doesn’t seem to have ADHD,however, it may be a secondary problem. Any suggestions would be most helpful for the mother. She hates and loves her all at the same time. There isn’t a lack of love.

Like all medicine issues, alcohol treatment has come a long way in the past decades. In the past 25 years, important strides have been made in understanding alcohol problems and diverse intervention approaches have been developed. Alcohol problems are no longer viewed as a unitary, “all-or-nothing” clinical entity (e.g. “alcoholism”) for which there is a single best treatment.
Rather, alcohol problems are now broadly conceptualized as disorders that range from mild forms to very severe manifestations, with treatment considerations varying in accordance with the severity and unique characteristics of the individual’s problem and situation.

I am ex military, recently discharged, I think at night lying in bed that I will wake up back in time, back in uniform. I feel like I am going nuts here in the civilian world. I have talked to the National Gaurd, with my type of discharge, I have to wait 12 months and show proof of Alcohol abuse treatment. I have waited for 12 months, so the treatment is thonly thing I really need. I have to many bills right now to cover the medical bills for that. My question is, is it normal for ex military members to long for the moment of getting back in uniform? And to go insane in the civilian world? Well, not really insane, just a little, deppressed is the word. Please help me out if possible. Thank you.

Then again, the primary audience isn’t researchers or healthcare professionals, as denoted by the book’s subtitle: How You and Your Loved Ones Can Understand and Treat Alcohol and Other Drug Problems. Volpicelli writes that “to get the …

Most of you must have seen someone addicted to alcohol or you yourself might have suffered from alcohol addiction in the past. Alcoholism can totally ruin life. People who normally have a lot of self-control often have absolutely lost total control over their lives and surrendered to alcoholism, which does not only hurt you physically, mentally and emotionally, but also hurt you professionally and personally.
Alcoholism is a disease and it can become chronic. Your body begins to suffer dramatically from the high levels of alcohol that it has been taking in for so long. Drinking large quantities of alcohol on a regular basis can lead to poisoning of your own body. You could suffer from alcohol poison in many different ways and some of these could cause life long illnesses that could eventually kill you. Alcoholism can damage your liver and if you persist with drinking alcohol it could lead to so much liver damage that it could end up taking your life. Alcohol consumption over a period of time can create malfunctions in your liver and also cause kidney or heart failure. Damage of internal organs can cost you your life, if you do not get immediate treatment

So far, this has not been a good year for me. In fact, to be quite frank, it’s been a miserable year. Everything in my life seems to be falling apart. Me and my ex-boyfriend had a really bad breakup this year plus he’s stalking me and won’t leave me alone, my family is facing financial issues due to the struggling economy, my brother is in rehab for alcohol abuse and he is only 24 years old, I’m moving out of California forever. But the worst one of all is my parents are getting divorced.
I’m really sad and depressed and I really don’t know what to do anymore. I’m 19, almost 20 years old in 10 days and I feel so lost and alone. Christmas is coming up and I have nothing but a broken family and ailing relationships. Everything is going wrong. On top of it, I’m moving out of California and moving to Nevada next year and I’m not looking forward to it. What’s worse is that after the divorce is finalized, my dad is staying in California and I have to move with my mom to Nevada and I really can’t stand my mom. :/ So I’m having a lot of issues with my mom because I want to live with my dad. I don’t want to live with my mom. I want to live with my dad. But my mom is making it difficult for me and it’s causing a lot of problems.
