My husband has just recently been diagnosed with PTSD, and now he is saying that the reason he treated me badly before was because of the PTSD. He has emotionally abused me for nearly 6 years now and i have stayed because i always thought he needed me to be there for him to help him deal with his alcoholism, among other things. But the big question is…if he is on medication for his PTSD now, why does he still treat me this way, and do you think that the emotional abuse is really because he has PTSD, and not just because he is an a**hole?!!
thank you so much dsayless…you just put alot of things into perspective for me. i really appreciate your advice.

My son(14 yrs old) recently complained that his dad had been trying to sleep in bed with him.

My son also said that all the neighborhood kids think his dad is a pervert.

army med board has gone horribly wrong?

i have been in a mad board for alomost 10 months, i have been diagnosed with ptsd, severe deppression, anxiety disorder, and alcoholism. now thats what several docs have said while others in behavioral health disregard the ptsd and anxiety dis order! before deployment and my entire life i was outgoing had many friends loved bein outdoors and talkin to people and loved , LOVED women lol. over the last year and change i have gotten to the point where now, i don’t leave my house do not talk to people have no sex drive, can’t be around many people, have horrible anger problems drink almost everyday, have been hospitalized for twice once even for a suicide attempt by over dose and last week started cutting my legs up. the doctors most recently at behavioral health have said to my nco that the cutting is a normal thing for my personality and have also not let me change my meds to things that i was on in the hospitol because ” i will be addicted” not i could but i will! i have been getting nothing but worse cuz my main triggers are the army and uniforms and all that stuff. i started cutting about 3 days after i had a walk in appt at behavioral health and was written off cuz i wasn’t suicidal or homicidal even tho i stated that meds wher not helping and i felt myself getting worse. i have sworn statements from friends family and nco’s that knew me before deployment and say this is not me! but the army basically wants to tell me that i have allways been this way! i don’t know what to do they will not let me go off post and one source told me that my issues are to serious for thier temporary treatment. i am not me and everyone around me know it but the powers that be are tryin to F me out of my entitlements, i’m not tryin to get paid i just want the help and med board to go thru! recently i found out that the doctor writing up my review completely dropped my ptsd and anxiety from my write up, and my anxiety is the worsed thing i deal with beside deppression. what do i do when everyone around me sees what thier doin to me and i see it but we all know that the person i am now is in no way the person i was! how do i save myself and get everything i need and desserve? and does it even matter what they do cuz i heard the VA takes care of vets. i just wanna be me but i fear i never will be again and it hurts so much to be treated like a liar and like the army is workin against me to show that it isn’t thier fault! i am disgusted and just want to be treated the same as everyother wounded warrior how can i bring the powers that be into the light and make them held accountable for everything they have done to me? also i don’t want to see this happen to others after me! i just wanna be normal!!!!

Help!!Question About Recovering alcoholics!?

My father is a recovering alcoholic. He has been sober for three years. When he returned home from treatment, he adjusted well to the changes in his new life being completely sober. However, a few months into his recovery, he began to do things that were completely irrational. Nothing immoral or physically destructive. It’s as though his thought process had been damaged. It started out slowly and has progressively gotten worse. His symptoms are similar to those of a child with ADHD. His regular day-to-day decision making is completely irrational. He does not fit the criteria for dimensia. He drank for over 30 yrs. Has anyone ever experienced this with a recovering alcoholic or have any info about it. Could this be damage from the alcoholism, or are these signs of some other type of mental disease. I’m desperate for a method of treatment. If anyone is familiar with this, please help!!!

My baby’s dad is an alcoholic and I know his liver is damage from his drinking, not only that I got an PFA on him for his abuse on me. I don’t want to hurt him with the baby I just want the courts to help me to order him to get treatments for his alcohol, depression and there is a chance that he is bi-polar. He is not ready to be a dad but he did watch my other son, while I worked on the weekends. The only bad side is he left my son home alone so he can go to the bar to drink and that is when the abuse started. I had to come home from work and did not make money because of his drinking. I want him to have supervised visitations because he will drink if he does not have his visitations supervise and with his drinking he will not be able to care for our baby. I going to file full sole custody of the baby next month so when the baby is born my attorney can schedule a hearing date for custody. Should I file child support in the baby’s dad’s condition. He has threaten suicide on me.
